Creating input and output cards

Use the create card function to create input and output cards.

About this task

The create card function relates directly to which card type is active in the Map editor, or which card type (Input Cards or Output Cards) in the Outline view is selected when the new card is created. To create an input card, the input card in the Map editor or the Input Cards element in the Outline view must be active. To create an output card, the output card in the Map editor or the Output Cards element in the Outline view must be active.

Another way to create input and output cards is by clicking the icons for add input card or add output card in the Map editor under the Map heading.

The card is created in the currently selected map. The full path and name of the currently selected map appears in the title bar of the Map Designer.

To create an input card

Procedure

  1. Select the Input Cards element under the map in the Outline view.
    The Add Input Card dialog box is displayed.
  2. On the Card menu, click New.
  3. Define the card by entering the appropriate information for each setting.
  4. Click OK.

To create an output card

  1. Select the Output Cards element under the map in the Outline view.
  2. On the Card menu, click New.
    The Add Output Card dialog box is displayed.
  3. Define the card by entering the appropriate information for each setting.
  4. Click OK.
