Starting the Map Designer

On Windows operating systems, you can start the Map Designer through the Design Studio on the Programs menu.

To start the Map Designer:

Procedure

  1. Click Transformation Extender > Design Studio > Design Studio.
  2. If you are prompted to select a metadata directory, you can either accept the default or enter a different directory. The metadata directory is a designated workspace where your map files will be stored after importing them.
    The first time you open the Design Studio, the Eclipse SDK Welcome page is displayed.
  3. From the Welcome page, click Workbench (Go to the workbench). The Workbench opens into the Transformation Extender Development perspective.
    You must be in the Transformation Extender Development perspective before you can create a map.
