On distributed platforms, the Launcher restarts
automatically when it fails. This option can reduce downtime in production
environments. You can configure how long and how many times the Launcher attempts
to restart, or you can disable automatic restart. Automatic restart
is not supported on Enterprise (USS) platforms.
- In the Options tab of Launcher Administration, select Restart.
- Click Enable Configuration to enable
or disable automatic restart. Restart is enabled by default.
- In the Retry Attempts field, specify
the maximum number of times the Launcher is to attempt
to restart after a failure.
The default value is two
restart attempts. If the specified number of restart attempts has
not occurred when the Retry timeout period
elapses, the Launcher continues
to retry until it reaches the specified number of attempts.
- In the Retry Timeout field, specify
the maximum amount of time, in minutes, that the Launcher is to attempt
to restart after a failure.
The default value is 10
minutes. There are five minutes between each restart attempt.
