When the wizard opens, you begin by selecting a data source. IBM® SPSS® Text Analytics for Surveys was optimized to process data sets of up to 10,000 records, although performance will vary based on the volume of text contained in these records. See the installation instructions for performance statistics and recommendations.
Important! An ID variable with a unique value for each record must be present in order to import the data.
You can choose one of the following data sources:
• SPSS Statistics files (*.sav). See the topic Using IBM SPSS Statistics Files for more information.
• Microsoft Excel files (*.xls / *.xlsx). See the topic Using Microsoft Excel Files for more information.
• ODBC (Microsoft Open Database Connectivity protocol) database. See the topic Using Data through ODBC for more information.
• Data Collection data model. This option is available only if you have the data model installed. See the topic Using IBM SPSS Data Collection Data for more information.
