Starting TCP/IP interfaces using IBM Navigator for i

To start IPv4 or IPv6 interfaces using IBM Navigator for i, follow these steps.

Note: To start interfaces, you must have *IOSYSCFG special authority.

The interface (status) must be inactive before starting it.

  1. In IBM Navigator for i, select Network > TCP/IP Configuration > Interfaces.
    Multi select is supported to start interfaces where the status is not ACTIVE.
  2. Perform one of the following steps to start the interface:
    • For static interfaces, select the interfaces to start, right-click and select Start, or from the Actions menu select Start.

    • For interfaces created by IPv6 stateless address autoconfiguration, right-click and select Start Stateless Address Autoconfiguration, or from the Actions menu select Start Stateless Address Autoconfiguration.

  3. Click the refresh icon.
If the status of the interface becomes ACTIVE, you have started the interface successfully.
