Creating TCP/IP interfaces using IBM Navigator for i

To create new IPv4 or IPv6 interfaces using IBM Navigator for i, follow these steps.

Note: To create interfaces, you must have *IOSYSCFG special authority.
  1. In IBM Navigator for i, select Network > TCP/IP Configuration > Interfaces.
  2. Click the Actions menu and complete one of the following steps.
    • To create a local area network interface, select New Interface > Local Area Network > IPv4 Local Area Network or IPv6 Local Area Network.
    • To create a virtual interface, select New Interface > Virtual IP.
  3. Follow the steps in the Interface wizard to create the interface.
After you finish the configuration, the new interface is displayed in the table.
