XML Scripting for IBM i introduction

XML Scripting for IBM® i uses an XML formatted file to accomplish a set of tasks on the system. These tasks are grouped in "targets" which allow a different set of tasks to be run in different invocations of the XML Scripting tool. The targets can have dependencies on each other.

The XML Scripting for IBM i tool is inspired by Apache Ant, but it is not compatible with that product and has a different focus. Currently, the tool is available only in the English language and has no extension API.
