Configuring inbound email connections for an MSSP deployment

To create inbound email connections for an MSSP deployment, you must configure mailbox settings in the configuration organization, push the configuration to the child organizations, and configure ports and server settings in the child organizations.

About this task

For an MSSP deployment, you can configure different email connections for each child organization. This involves adding mailbox settings in the configuration organization. This includes setting the name, API name, and description for the mailbox. You must then configure the connection details for each child organization. Configuring inbound email connections for non-MSSP organizations is described in the System Administrator Guide.

Procedure

  1. In the configuration organization, create a new inbound email connection and set the mailbox name, API name, and optionally, a description. You do not configure the Connection Details in the configuration organization, so this section is disabled. Refer to Changed in 51.0.2.0 Configuring an inbound email connection for information about configuring email connections.
  2. Push the configuration, as described in Propagating configuration changes to MSSP organizations.
  3. Configure the Connection Details settings for each email connection in the child organizations. You cannot change the mailbox settings that you specified in the configuration organization.
