New in 51.0.5.0 Viewing playbook change logs

You can view playbook change logs to see changes made to the playbook.

About this task

The playbook change logs show the user who changed the playbook, the time and date of changes, any comments entered by the user who made the change, and the playbook build number.

You can also see the playbook build number when viewing playbook instances to identify specific playbook versions that ran. The playbook build number is unique across SOAR organizations, so if you export a playbook from one organization and import to another, the build number remains unique, providing the ability to track specific playbooks from one organization or environment to another.

The playbook build number supersedes the playbook revision number, which was not unique across organizations and is now deprecated for new playbook instances, but remains for preexisting instances.

Procedure

  1. From the Playbooks dashboard, click the playbook for which you want to view the change logs.
  2. Click the View change logs icon in the top right corner of the playbook toolbar.
The Change Logs information shows the history of changes to the playbook. The following screen shows an example with the View change logs icon highlighted. In this example, the playbook build number is ba3fe120.x.
Note: The change log history is cleared when the following changes occur:
    • The playbook object type changes.
    • The playbook is deleted and restored.
