Changed in 51.0.1.0 Creating MSSP users

You can create MSSP users either by creating them in the configuration organization to add them to multiple organizations, or by creating them in specific child organizations.

There are two way to create MSSP users:
  • Add users to the configuration organization, from which you can add them to multiple organizations. Use this approach if you want users to access incidents across organizations.
  • Add users to individual child organizations, as required. Use this approach if you do not want users to access incidents in all organizations.
Tip: You have the flexibility to create MSSP users using both methods.

Creating MSSP users from the configuration organization

You can add users to multiple SOAR MSSP organizations at once by sending them an email invitation from the configuration organization.

About this task

When you send the invitation from the configuration organization, users are invited to the configuration organization by default, as well as any other organizations that you specify.

When you are inviting the user, you select the groups to which you want to assign the user. Some groups might not be available until a configuration push has been completed.

After the user accepts the invitation, you can add or remove that user from specific organizations, except the configuration organization. To do this, see Adding MSSP users to an organization.

Procedure

  1. In the configuration organization, navigate to the Administrator Settings > Users tab.
  2. Click Invite User.
  3. From the Invite User dialog:
    • In the Email field, enter the user's email address.
    • From the Groups field, search for and select the groups to which you want to add the user.
    • From the Organizations field, search for and select the organizations to which you want to extend the invitation. The configuration organization is required and is selected by default. If you are inviting an administration user, invite the user to all of the organizations in the MSSP deployment.
  4. Click Send Invitation.

Results

The invitation email is sent to the user. From the Pending Invites tab, you can view the user email address, and the groups, and organizations to which the invitation applies. After the user accepts the invitation, it no longer displays on the Pending Invites tab.

Creating MSSP users from child organizations

Create MSSP users in a child organization if you want them to access incidents in only that organization.

Procedure

  1. In the child organization to which you want to add the user, navigate to the Administrator Settings > Users tab.
  2. Click Invite User.
  3. From the Invite User dialog:
    • In the Email field, enter the user's email address.
    • From the Groups field, search for and select the groups to which you want to add the user.
  4. Click Send Invitation.

Results

The invitation email is sent to the user. From the Pending Invites tab, you can view the user email address, and the groups to which the invitation applies. After the user accepts the invitation, it no longer displays on the Pending Invites tab.
