Deactivating a user allows you to suspend the user's account temporarily, where you can
reactivate the user at any time. Deactivate the user from the organization where the user was
added.
Before you begin
If you are deactivating a user from the configuration organization, you must be a member of
all of the organizations in the MSSP deployment. Also, if you intend to deactivate a user who is
currently assigned any incidents or tasks, consider reassigning them to another user especially if
the user is to be deactivated for a considerable amount of time.
About this task
For users added in a child organization, deactivate the user from that child organization. For
users added in the configuration organization, deactivate the user from the configuration
organization. When you deactivate a user from the configuration organization, the user is
deactivated across all child organizations.
You can reactivate the user by selecting the user name and choosing to reactivate.
Procedure
-
In the child or configuration organization from which you want to deactivate the user, select
Administrator Settings > Users.
-
Select the user that you want to deactivate and scroll to the bottom the page to see the user's
details.
- Click Deactivate User > Deactivate User.
-
If the user is assigned to any open tasks or incidents that you want to reassign, from the
Reassign open incidents to field, search for and select the user to whom you
want to reassign the incidents. From the Reassign open tasks to field, search
for and select the user to whom you want to reassign the open tasks.
Important: Only users who are members of the organizations that contain the incidents
and tasks to be reassigned are shown. It is not possible to reassign incidents and tasks to users
who are not members of the organizations, so non-members are not applicable and therefore are not
shown.
- If the user had no open incidents or tasks, click Yes to
deactivate the user; otherwise, click Deactivate User.
