Filtering values of categorical variables

You can filter values of categorical variables in the data that are used to generate the chart. You can filter values for any categorical variable in the active dataset, regardless of whether the variable is explicitly included in the chart. The filter applies only to the data that are used to generate the chart and does not affect the active dataset.

How to filter values of a categorical variable

1. Select a categorical variable from the Variables list.
2. Clear any categories, in the Categories list, that you do not want to include in the data for the chart.

The Categories list displays only values that have value labels. By default, values that do not have value labels are included in the data that are used to generate the chart. If you want to exclude values that do not have value labels, then clear Include unlabeled values. If you clear all categories and check Include unlabeled values, then only values without value labels are included.
