MAP Subcommand (UPDATE command)
MAP produces
a list of the variables in the new active dataset and the file or
files from which they came. Variables are listed in the order in which
they appear in the resulting file. MAP has no specifications and must be placed after all FILE, RENAME, and IN subcommands.
- Multiple
MAPsubcommands can be used. EachMAPshows the current status of the active dataset and reflects only the subcommands that precede theMAPsubcommand. - To obtain a map of the resulting file in its final
state, specify
MAPlast. - If a variable is renamed, its original and new names
are listed. Variables created by
INare not included in the map, since they are automatically attached to the end of the file and cannot be dropped.
