Descriptive statistics for categories of one variable within categories of another

To Obtain Descriptive Statistics Crosstabulated by Two Grouping Variables

This feature requires the Statistics Base option.

1. From the menus choose:

   Analyze > Reports > Case Summaries...

2. Select one or more scale, numeric variables that you want to summarize.
3. Select two categorical grouping variables that divide your data into subgroups.
4. Deselect Display cases (if you only want descriptive statistics without individual case listings).
5. Click Statistics...
6. Select the statistics you want.

The categorical grouping variables can be string (alphanumeric) variables or numeric variables that use numeric codes to represent categories (e.g., 0=Male, 1=Female).
