Running the Analysis

  1. To obtain a three-dimensional solution, recall the Multidimensional Scaling dialog box and click Model.

  2. In the Model dialog, type 3 as the minimum and maximum number of dimensions.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Click Options in the Multidimensional Scaling dialog box.

  5. Select Custom as the initial configuration.
  6. Select kinship_ini.sav as the file to read variables from.
  7. Select dim01, dim02, and dim03 as variables.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Click Plots in the Multidimensional Scaling dialog box.

  10. In the Plots dialog, select Original vs. transformed proximities and Transformed independent variables.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Click Output in the Multidimensional Scaling dialog box.

  13. In the Output dialog, select Input data, Stress decomposition, and Variable and dimension correlations in the Display group.
  14. Click Continue.
  15. Click OK in the Multidimensional Scaling dialog box.
