PROXMAP
is a dimensionality reduction procedure that constructs a
low-dimensional spatial representation of proximity data (such as distances or other dissimilarity
and similarity measures) between objects (cases). Proximities are represented as distances between
points in a low-dimensional space and might be provided directly or computed from multivariate data.
Unlike linear projection methods, PROXMAP
minimizes the discrepancy between
proximities and distances in the low-dimensional solution. The procedure supports individual
differences models when multiple data sources are available.
