Proximity mapping: Supplementary

With the Supplementary tab, you can define property variables that aid in the interpretation of the spatial configuration but do not influence its estimation (unsupervised mapping).

Variables
The Variables list on the left displays all variables available in the active dataset. Select one or more variables that you want to treat as properties and move them to the Properties list. Any number of properties can be selected.
Properties

The Properties pane lists all variables that are designated as property variables, along with the transformation assigned to each.

Click Define Transformation to assign a transformation function to one or more selected property variables. See the following available options:

  • Linear keeps the properties on its standardized scale.
  • Spline applies a smooth, monotonic, or nonmonotonic transformation, using a piecewise polynomial function.
  • Ordinal preserves rank order only.
  • Nominal fits categories as the centroids of the associated object points in the configuration.
