Overview (POWER UNIVARIATE LINEAR command)
POWER UNIVARIATE LINEAR
invokes power analysis for the type III F-test in
univariate linear regression. Univariate linear regression is a basic and standard statistical
approach in which researchers use the values of several variables to explain or predict values of a
scale outcome.
Options
- Test Assumptions
- Specifies the keywords that control the test assumptions. The keywords specify the sample size, the power for sample size estimation, the population multiple partial correlation, number of either the total predictors or the predictors in the full model, number of either the test predictors or the predictors in the nested mode, the multiple partial correlation coefficient, the squared multiple cor-relation coefficients for the full and nested model, the intercept term, model predictors, the significance level of the type I error rate for the test, and the effect size. For more information, see PARAMETERS Subcommand (POWER UNIVARIATE LINEAR command).
- Two-Dimensional Plot
- Controls the two-dimensional power by sample size chart, and the two-dimensional power by effect size chart.
- Three-Dimensional Plot
- Controls the three-dimensional power by sample size (x-axis) and effect size (y-axis) chart, and the three-dimensional power by sample size (y-axis) and effect size (x-axis) chart. Also controls the vertical rotation degrees (clockwise from the left) and the horizontal rotation degrees (clockwise from the front) for the three-dimensional chart.
Basic specification
The basic specification is the POWER UNIVARIATE LINEAR command and a PARAMETERS subcommand that specifies valid values for the keywords TEST_PREDICTORS, TOTAL_PREDICTORS, either PARTIAL_CORR or FULL_MODEL and NESTED_MODEL, and either POWER or N.
Subcommand order
The subcommands can be named in any order.
