Running the Analysis

  1. To obtain a Multiple Correspondence Analysis, from the menus choose:

    Analyze > Dimension Reduction > Optimal Scaling...

  2. In the Optimal Scaling dialog, make sure All variables are multiple nominal and One set are selected, and click Define.

  3. Select Thread through Length in half-inches (when variables are listed in file order) as analysis variables.
  4. Select object as a labeling variable.
  5. Click Object in the Plots group.

  6. In the Object Plots dialog, choose to label by Variable in the Label Objects group, and then select thread through object as labeling variables.
  7. Click Continue, and then click Variable in the Plots group of the Multiple Correspondence Analysis dialog box.

  8. In the Variable Plots dialog, choose to produce a joint category plot for thread through length.
  9. Click Continue.
  10. Click OK in the Multiple Correspondence Analysis dialog box.
