SPSS/PC+ System Files (SAVE TRANSLATE command)

Variables are saved as they are defined. The resulting file is given the extension .sys if no extension is explicitly specified. The dictionary is saved so that labels, formats, missing value specifications, and other dictionary information are preserved. This format is available only on Windows operating systems.
