Running the Analysis

  1. To run a Life Tables analysis, from the menus choose:

    Analyze > Survival > Life Tables...

    The time a customer has been with the company is measured in months, but you would like to see the life table by quarters.

  2. Select Months with service as the time variable.
  3. Type 60 as the maximum time interval to display and type 3 as the number of intervals to display by.
  4. Select Churn within last month as the status variable.
  5. Click Define Event.

  6. In the Define Event dialog, type 1 as the single value indicating the customer churned.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. In the Life Tables dialog, select Customer category as a factor.
  9. Click Define Range.

  10. In the Define Range dialog, type 1 as the minimum and 4 as the maximum value of Customer category.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Click Options in the Life Tables dialog box.

  13. In the Options dialog, select Survival in the Plot Type group.
  14. Select Pairwise in the Compare Levels of First Factor group.
  15. Click Continue.
  16. Click OK in the Life Tables dialog box.
