Accounting for Customers Without Services

  1. To create a variable that counts customers without services, from the menus choose:

    Transform > Compute Variable...

  2. Type none as the target variable.
  3. Type 1-max(multline, voice, pager, internet, callid, callwait, forward, confer, ebill) as the numeric expression.
  4. Click Type & Label.

  5. Type No services as the variable label.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Click OK in the Compute Variable dialog box.

    Now you need to add this variable to the multiple response set.

  8. Recall the Define Multiple Response Sets dialog box.
  9. Select the $services multiple response set.
  10. Add No services to the list of variables in the set.
  11. Click Change.
  12. Click Close.

Analyses using the $services multiple response set will now account for customers without services.
