Results for IBM SPSS Statistics Steps

The result properties for an IBM® SPSS® Statistics step control handling of the output file generated by executing the step. To define result properties for an IBM SPSS Statistics step, click the step in an open job. Click the Results tab to view or edit the step properties.

The Name column identifies the result type for IBM SPSS Statistics steps. Properties for the Output Target include:

File Name. Specify a name for the results file. The file extension automatically reflects the selected output format.

Format. Specify the format for the results as text, html, or oxml by clicking the Location cell for the output target. See the topic IBM SPSS Statistics Result Formats for more information.

Location. Define the location in which to save the results by clicking the Location cell for the output target. Click the resulting ellipsis button to specify the location. See the topic IBM SPSS Statistics Result Location for more information.

Permissions. Define access permissions for the results file by clicking the Permissions cell for the output target. Click the resulting ellipsis button to specify the permissions.

The contents of the output file correspond to the output that would be produced in the IBM SPSS Statistics Viewer by executing the step syntax within the IBM SPSS Statistics environment. Although the step may produce additional files, such as exported data files or PMML model files, you cannot define properties for those files using an IBM SPSS Statistics step. If control over the files is needed, use a General job step to execute the IBM SPSS Statistics syntax.
