Unrestricted Utility Commands
Most utility commands can appear in any state. The table Table 1 shows this by the absence of asterisks in
the columns.
The dashed lines indicate that after a utility command
is processed, the program remains in the same state it was in before
the command execution. INIT, TRANS, or PROC indicates that the command moves the program to that state. For
example, if the program is in the procedure state, N OF CASES
moves the program to the transformation
state. The FINISH
command terminates
command processing wherever it appears. Any commands appearing after FINISH
will not be read and therefore will
not cause an error.
