Running the Analysis

  1. To run a GLM Repeated Measures analysis, from the menus choose:

    Analyze > General Linear Model > Repeated Measures...

  2. Type time as the within-subject factor name.
  3. Type 5 as the number of levels.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Type tg as the measure name.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Type wgt as the measure name.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Click Define.

  10. Select Triglyceride through Final weight (when variables are listed in file order) as dependent variables.
  11. Select Gender as a between-subjects factor.
  12. Click Contrasts in the GLM Repeated Measures dialog box.

  13. Select time(Polynomial) as the contrast to change.
  14. In the Change Contrast group, select Repeated as the contrast type.
  15. Click Change, then click Continue.
  16. Click Plots in the GLM Repeated Measures dialog box.

  17. In the Profile Plots dialog, select time as the factor to place on the horizontal axis.
  18. Select gender as the factor to define separate lines in the plot.
  19. Click Add.
  20. Click Continue.
  21. Click Options in the GLM Repeated Measures dialog box.

  22. In the Options dialog, choose to display estimated marginal means for gender*time.
  23. Select Estimates of effect size and SSCP matrices in the Display group.
  24. Click Continue.
  25. Click OK in the GLM Repeated Measures dialog box.

Next
