VIN Subcommand (DISCRIMINANT command)
VIN specifies
the minimum Rao’s V that
a variable must have to enter the analysis. When you use METHOD=RAO, variables satisfying one of the other criteria for entering the
equation may actually cause a decrease in Rao’s V for the equation. The default VIN prevents this but does not prevent the
addition of variables that provide no additional separation between
groups.
- You can specify any value for
VIN. The default is 0. -
VINshould be used only when you have specifiedMETHOD=RAO. Otherwise, it is ignored.
