Template File Format (AUTORECODE command)
An autorecode template file is actually a data file in IBM® SPSS® Statistics format that contains two variables: Source_ contains the original, unrecoded valid values, and Target_ contains the corresponding recoded values. Together these two variables provide a mapping of original and recoded values.
You can therefore, theoretically, build your own custom template files, or simply include the two mapping variables in an existing data file--but this type of use has not been tested.
