Installing SPSS Statistics Adapter

Install SPSS® Statistics Adapter by using IBM Installation Manager in wizard mode.

  • Make sure that you already configured IBM® SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository. Refer the documentation for IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services for detailed steps and requirements. Also, verify that you have the correct version of IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services that matches your IBM SPSS Statistics version. See IBM Software Product Compatibility Reports.
  • Decompress the installation package file for Statistics Adapter (StatisticsAdapters<version>).
  • IBM Installation Manager must have access to the repository that contains the package.

Complete the steps mentioned in procedure to install SPSS Statistics Adapter.

  1. Go to the directory <Drive>\Program files\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\server\bin and run stopserver.bat.
  2. Open IBM Installation Manager.
    For more information, see Getting started with Installation Manager.
  3. Add the file repository.config for Statistics Adapter.
    1. Click File > Preferences > Repositories.

      The page shows available repositories, repository locations, and the connection status for the repositories.

    2. Click Add Repository and enter the file location manually or click Browse. For example, <Drive>\Users\Administrator\Downloads\StatisticsAdapters-<version>\repository\repository.config.
    3. Click Apply.

      If you provided an HTTPS or restricted FTP repository location, you are prompted to enter a user ID and password.

    4. Select Search service repositories during installation and updates. Installation Manager searches the service repositories at IBM.com for updates to installed packages.
    5. Click OK to close the Preference page.
  4. In the IBM Installation Manager, click Install.
    The IBM Installation Manager searches the defined repositories for available packages. If no available packages are found, verify that you specified the repository correctly.
  5. Select IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services - Server Adapter for Statistics and click Next.
  6. Read and accept the license agreement. Click Next.
  7. Verify the installation directory and click Next.
  8. Enter the credentials for IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository and click Next.
    The IBM Installation Manager wizard validates the credentials and redirects you to the next page.
  9. Verify the package file to be installed and click Install.
  10. After the packages are installed successfully, click Finish.
  11. Go to the directory <Drive>\Program files\IBM\SPSS\Deployment\<version>\server\bin and run startserver.bat.
  12. Open IBM SPSS Statistics and click File > Repository > Connect.
  13. Enter the Repository url and click OK
  14. Enter the credentials for IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository server and click Ok.
You should be able to access files in the IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository. SPSS Statistics Adapter is configured and ready to use.
