Working with output

When you run a procedure, the results are displayed in a window called the Viewer. The Viewer window can function in two modes.
Classic (Syntax & Output)
The default mode displays output in the classic Viewer format. In this mode, you can easily navigate to the output that you want to see. You can also manipulate the output and create a document that contains precisely the output that you want.
Workbook
Workbook mode bridges the SPSS® Statistics syntax editing ability with a notebook approach that provides an interactive method for running syntax and viewing the corresponding output. Workbook documents (*.spwb) consist of individual paragraphs. The paragraphs contain the individual output elements (syntax, procedures, charts, and so on). Syntax paragraphs provide full syntax edit and run capabilities. Non-syntax paragraphs provide full rich-text editing capabilities.

For information on switching output modes, see General options.
