Navigating the Data Editor
The first time you open a data file, the focus in the Data Editor is on the cell in the first column of the first row on the Data View tab.
Data view. Use the arrow keys to move around. You can simply type data values into cells of the Data Editor.
Variable view. Ctrl+T (Windows/Linux) or Command+T (Mac) switches you between the Data view and the Variable view. In the Variable view, press the spacebar to access the Variable Type, Value Labels, and Missing Values dialog boxes.
Saving changes. After making edits, use Ctrl+S (Windows/Linux) or Command+S (Mac) to save your changes.
Running procedures. Dialog boxes for running procedures are accessed from the menus. In many cases, the main menus are divided into submenus based on the type of procedure. After activating the window menus with Alt key (Windows/Linux) or Control+F2 (Mac), you can use the arrow keys to navigate the menus and submenus.
