Handling Outliers with the Expert Modeler

The Outliers tab allows you to choose automatic detection of outliers as well as the type of outliers to detect.

Detect outliers automatically. By default, automatic detection of outliers is not performed. Select (check) this option to perform automatic detection of outliers, then select one or more of the following outlier types:

• Additive
• Level shift
• Innovational
• Transient
• Seasonal additive
• Local trend
• Additive patch

To Specify Handling of Outliers for the Expert Modeler

This feature requires the Forecasting option.

1. From the menus choose:

   Analyze > Forecasting > Create Model...

2. On the Variables tab, select Expert Modeler for Method.
3. Click Criteria....
4. Click the Outliers tab.
