IBM SPSS Statistics Job Steps

The IBM® SPSS® Statistics step submits IBM SPSS Statistics syntax to a designated IBM SPSS Statistics execution server for automated production of statistical analysis and reports. Automated production provides the ability to run IBM SPSS Statistics analyses without user intervention and is useful if users at your site often run the same set of time-consuming analyses, such as weekly reports. The execution server takes as its input a file containing IBM SPSS Statistics command syntax and automatically generates the results. The output can be automatically distributed to specified recipients, saved to a file system, or stored in a IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Services Repository.

To add the IBM SPSS Statistics step to a job, drag a IBM SPSS Statistics syntax file from the Content Explorer to the job canvas. However, before the step can be successfully run, several properties of the IBM SPSS Statistics step must be defined. These properties can be classified into two categories:
