Changing Chart Types

You can convert a chart from one type to another. For example, you can convert a bar chart to a pie chart or an overlay scatterplot to a scatterplot matrix.

  1. If the Properties window is not already displayed, from the menus choose:

    Edit > Properties

  2. Click the Variables tab.
  3. Choose a graphic element type from the Element Type list. The available types depend on the underlying structure of the chart.
  4. Click Apply.

If you want to change the chart to another variety of the same type (for example, changing a clustered bar chart to a 3-D bar chart), you have to change the variable roles instead. The variable roles are specified in variable grid below the Element Type list. For more information about variable roles and other features of the Variables tab, refer to Variables and Chart Types .
