Snapshot backup status in the repository

Ensure that you routinely check the status of the IBM® Storage Protect Snapshot repository.

To check the status of snapshot backups in the IBM Storage Protect Snapshot repository, use one of the following commands:

  • For DB2®, fcmcli -f inquire[_detail]
  • or, db2acsutil query status
When using the inquire_detail command with the appropriate tool, output similar to the following displays:
Type Partition Backup-ID TSM Backup-ID State
DevClass TargetSet Background Copy BytestobeFlashcopied
#BACKUP NODE0000 C01__A0FY303K6B IN-PROGRESS MIRROR1 1 3.000GB of 3.000GB
3.000GB
UsabilityStates :
REMOTELY_MOUNTABLE,REPETITIVELY_RESTORABLE,SWAP-RESTORABLE,PHYSICAL_PROTECTION,
FULL_COPY,TAPE_BACKUP_PENDING
Tip: The db2acsutil query status command does not show all information that is shown by the inquire_detail command. That is because db2acsutil is a tool delivered by DB2 which only knows a subset of all possible states that can be set by IBM Storage Protect Snapshot.
