Setting up IBM Storage Protect Snapshot separately on backup or clone servers
When you are configuring the production server, it is recommended that you set up a backup or clone server as required. To manage backup or clone servers from the production system use the Configuration Wizard. You need Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) to run the configuration. If it is not possible to set up from the production server, you must set up the backup or clone server separately with the Configuration Wizard. If this is the case, all upgrades to IBM® Storage Protect Snapshot must be done separately on all servers.
Before you begin
Ensure that you installed the product, and activated and configured the instance. Take a note of the hostname of the production server and the device classes that the backup or clone server are to use. If the default names were changed, ensure that you know the port of the IBM Storage Protect management agent (ACSD), and the ACS_DIR directory name. The default ACS_DIR directory is <instance owner $HOME>/acs.
- The shared directory in the ACS_DIR directory.
