Implementing custom application and file system backup scenarios

• Creating a VSS snapshot backup to local shadow volumes You can back up custom application and file system data to local shadow volumes if sufficient storage space is available on the local shadow volumes.

• Creating a file-level backup to the IBM Storage Protect server

  You can optionally use the IBM Storage Protect server backup-archive client to create file-level backups of your file system or custom application data.
