Enabling or disabling client replication

Although a client's backup server might be configured for replication, the client's data is not replicated unless replication is enabled for the client.

Before you begin

You can enable replication for a client only if its backup server is configured to replicate data to a target server. You can define a replication server pair from the Replication page.

About this task

When you register a client with a server that is configured for replication, you can enable replication for the client. If you do not enable replication for the client when you register it with the server, you can enable replication later.

You can disable replication for a client if you do not want its data to be replicated to the target server. For example, you might want secondary copies of backed up data only for production-level clients.

Procedure

To enable or disable replication for a client, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Operations Center menu bar, click Clients.
  2. Select one or more clients whose replication state you want to change.
Restriction: If you select more than one client, the selected clients must all have the same replication state. Replication must be currently enabled for all the clients, or currently disabled for all the clients.
  3. Click More > Set Replication
  4. Turn replication On or Off, and click Set
