The hsmrpcport option specifies a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) TCP/IP port address for the HSM recall services.

Supported Clients

The option is available only for IBM® Storage Scale on AIX® clients and IBM Storage Scale Linux® clients.

Options File

Place this option in the client system options file dsm.sys within a server stanza.

Syntax


1  HSMRPCPort port_address

Parameters

port_address
Specifies the TCP/IP port address that is used by HSM processes. The range of values is 1024 - 65535. By default, the HSM services contact the rpcbind daemon to access the RPC port.
This option should be identical on all HSM client nodes. Ports ranging from 23152 to 23157 (or higher) might be used by other HSM daemons. Ensure that the port used with the hsmrpcport option does not overlap with this port range. If the dsmrecalld starts and is not able to use the port defined with the hsmrpcport option, one of the messages ANS8956E or ANS8957E will be written to the error log file.
