The hsmextobjidattr option specifies whether the dsmreconcile, dsmmigrate, dsmrecall, or dsmrecalld command assigns an object ID to the file as a Data Management Application Programming Interface (DMAPI) extended attribute (extObjId).

The extObjId DMAPI extended attribute is required for two-way orphan check reconciliation.

The two-way orphan check processing identifies orphans on the file system and on the IBM Storage® Protect server. The two-way check is done in a single pass and the orphan identification process uses parallel processing.

Place this option in the client options file dsm.opt.

YES
An object ID is stored in the file that is processed by the dsmmigrate, dsmrecall, dsmrecalld, or the dsmreconcile command with the preptwo option. This is the default.
NO
An object ID is not assigned to the file that is processed by the dsmmigrate, dsmrecall, dsmrecalld, or the dsmreconcile command with the preptwo option. When a reconciliation is run with the preptwo option, files are not prepared for the two-way orphan check.
