Registering with the IBM Storage Protect server

The registration concepts between Data Protection for IBM® Domino® and the IBM Storage Protect server are presented.

Before you back up to and run a recover from a IBM Storage Protect server, you must have a IBM Storage Protect registered node name and password. The process of setting up a node name and password is called registration. When registered, you can begin to back up and restore Domino databases and transaction logs with Data Protection for HCL Domino.

If your system has a node name that is assigned to the IBM Storage Protect backup-archive client, you must have a different node name for Data Protection for HCL Domino.
