Preparing to install

Data Protection for SAP HANA must be installed on all SAP HANA database servers. The following tasks are required to set up Data Protection for SAP HANA.

Before you begin

Be aware of differences between UNIX or Linux, and Windows versions of Data Protection for SAP HANA. For example, UNIX or Linux uses the path separator / and Windows uses the path separator \ with a drive letter.

Procedure

  1. Verify that the Data Protection for SAP HANA package is complete. See the README.1ST file on each installation disk (or disk image) for a description of the contents.
  2. Verify that the prerequisites are met as described in Prerequisites for installing Data Protection for SAP HANA.
  3. Install or upgrade Data Protection for SAP HANA.
  4. Verify that the installation completes successfully.
