Introduction to Data Export Service

The Data Export Service is provided to IBM® Storage Protect for Cloud customers who want to archive the legacy backup data for potential restore in the future or plan to end their subscription to IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Dynamics 365 and move away with backup data.

IBM Storage Protect for Cloud will retain the backup data in IBM Storage Protect for Cloud storage for 60 days, subject to the terms of your service agreement, if the subscription to IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Dynamics 365 service ends. The backup data in IBM Storage Protect for Cloud storage can be exported to your own storage as a paid service. You must submit an export request if you wish to export your data from IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Storage.

Note: If your subscription is BYOS type, ending your subscription will not delete the backup data stored in your own storage. You do not need to pay an export fee.

After the backup data is exported to your device, you can use a stand-alone Data Export tool to convert the backup data encrypted in IBM Storage Protect for Cloud format to readable content. You can contact an IBM Software Support for more details and assistance.
