About this task

Procedure

Go to the IBM® Storage Protect for Cloud Recovery Portal, and follow the steps below to export Teams Chat and Teams Chat messages:
Note: In IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Microsoft 365, the administrator can configure the end-user restore setting to control whether to allow Teams users to export Teams Chat backup data from IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Recovery Portal.

  1. Click the Teams Chat tile.
  2. Select Chat or Chat message from the Level list for the items you want to find.
  3. To search for backup data of Teams Chat, choose one of the following methods:
    • If you want to search for the Chat by the chat name or Chat message by keywords in the messages, enter keywords in the search box.
    • If you want to narrow your search by additional conditions, click Advanced to expand the search panel and configure the following conditions:
      • To search for chats:
        • Chat name – Enter keywords of a chat name.
        • Participants (separated by ",") – Enter keywords of participants’ display names and separate them by ",".
      • To search for chat messages:
        • Chat name – Enter keywords of a chat name.
        • Sender – Enter keywords of the sender’s display name of chat messages.
        • Keywords – Enter keywords of chat messages.
        • Date sent (from) – Click the Calendar () button to select a start date for the sent time range.
        • Date sent (to) – Click the Calendar () button to select an end date for the sent time range.

    Click Search to search for the backup data. If you want to reset the search conditions, click Reset.

  4. The search results are listed. A maximum of 2000 search results can be displayed. By default, the items listed in the search results table are the latest backup data. If your desired items are not in the table and the message Continue to search for more backup data by clicking here. is displayed at the bottom of the table, click here to continue with the search.
  5. Select the checkboxes next to the chats or chat messages that you want to export. If you want to select all chats or chat messages, select the top checkbox next to Chat or Chat message in the table.
  6. Click Export to export selected chats or chat messages to export and download the selected chats or chat messages to a local path.
  7. Once the export job starts, you can go to Request history to view the progress of the job. In Request history, you can also download exported data. For more details, refer to View Request History and Download Exported Data.
