Direct Data Export from a Backup Job

Before initiating a direct data export from a backup job, consider the following guidelines:

• Only the Record backup jobs can be exported.
• Exports are unavailable if no data has been protected, or if the backup job has failed or skipped.
• The direct data export is also limited to a combined monthly total of 100 GB.
• Only the backup jobs stored in IBM's default storage are eligible for export.
• Only the backup jobs from the current backup cycle, starting with the latest full backup (FB), are eligible for export.
• Exported data will expire within 7 days. Once expired, a re-export is necessary, which will count against the 100 GB data limit.

Follow the steps below to run a direct backup data export upon a record backup job:

1. Navigate to Job monitor > Backup & Restore tab.
2. Use the Filters to filter for the record backups. Click Apply to apply the filter conditions.
3. Click Export backup data from the More actions list.
4. You can go to the Job monitor > Export tab to track over the job progress and status, after the export job has been started.
5. When the export job completes, you can download the exported data and use the password to extract the ZIP file.
