Creating rules

Sponsor Administrators can create rules for provisioning the activities.

  1. Sign in to the PEM Partner Provisioner.
  2. Click Activities > Rules.
  3. Click Create. The Rule window opens.
  4. In the Name field, enter the name of the rule.
  5. Optional: In the Description field, enter the description for the rule name.
  6. From the Request Type list, select the request type such as provisioning request.
  7. From the Subresource Type list, select the subresource type that you want to provision.

If you select the System subresource type, the Configure resources option is displayed. Add the activities as resources that you want to provision when the request to provision System is triggered.

    1. Click Configure resources. The <Name> resources window is displayed.
    2. Click Add to create resources for System. In the Create resources window, select the Subresource type and then select the activities for which you want to add the subresource.
    3. Click Remove to delete the selected subresource.
    4. Click Reorder to change the order of the subresources in a rule.

When you have the System subresource type that is configured and the activities are defined as resources for System, these activities are run when a provisioning request for System is triggered. The activities are run in the order in which they are listed under the resources page.

  8. In the Activities column, select all the activities that you want to provision. Click > (right arrow or greater than symbol) to move the activities to the Selected Activities column.

Select the up or down arrow to arrange the activities in the order of execution.

For the predefined activities, the activities that are configured for the System subresource type are run first and then the activities that are listed here are run.

If no activities are defined for the System subresource type, only the activities that are listed here are run.

You can create your own activities and customize the rule by adding activities here to be run when a provisioning request is triggered.

  9. Click Save.
