Setting task entry validation criteria

You can manage validation of task entry criteria by specifying conditions in the activity definition. The entry criteria is validated during the processing of the task.

About this task

Ideally, all tasks are run sequentially during the activity processing. But by specifying an entry validation criteria, the Sponsor can control the sequence of task processing. During the processing of the activity, the task is run only if the entry criteria validation is successful. If the task entry criteria validation fails, the processing of the activity proceeds with the next task.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the PEM Portal as a Sponsor Administrator.
  2. Create a task. For more information, see Creating a task flow.
  3. To add an entry validation condition to the task, right-click the task or approval task and select Entry Validation.
  4. The Entry Validation pane is displayed.
  5. Add the entry validation criteria for the task as follows:
    1. Click the buttons in the Operand columns, select an operand. You can alternatively enter appropriate values as operands.
    2. Select a Relational operator from the drop-down.
    3. Optional: If there are multiple conditions, select a Conditional operator.
    4. Optional: To add more conditions, click Add.
    5. Click OK. The Entry Validation pane is closed.
