Resetting the password for a System User

System Administrators can reset the password for other System Administrators or a Customer Support, if the user forgets the password and the answer to the security question.

About this task

A System Administrator can reset the password for other System Administrators or a Customer Support.

When a System Administrator resets the password for a user, the user receives an email. The email contains a link to PEM Portal, PEM Partner Repository, or PEM Partner Provisioner where the user can enter a new password for the account.

Important: The user must reset the password before the reset password link expires. The expiration date is mentioned in the email message.

The default value for the reset password link expiration time is 24 hours.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the PEM Portal as a System Administrator.
  2. Select Directory > Users.
  3. On the Users page, for the user whose password you want to reset, click the arrow in the Actions column for the user, and select Reset Password.

    A Reset Password window is displayed.

  4. Optional: Enter any information that you want to share with the user in the Comments field.
  5. Click Send.
  6. Click OK to close the confirmation message.

Results

An email with a link to reset the password is sent to the user.
