Onboarding partners in Sterling File Gateway by using SFTP protocol V2/V3/V4

Sponsor administrators can roll out an activity to onboard trading partners in Sterling File Gateway so that trading partners can transfer files with sponsors by using the SFTP protocol in IBM PEM.

Sponsor administrators can use the predefined activity that uses the SFTP protocol in IBM PEM to be rolled out to partners for onboarding partners in the Sterling File Gateway. They can also roll out the same activity to update existing partners that are onboarded to the Sterling File Gateway. The PEM Partner Provisioner activity is used to provision partners in the Sterling File Gateway.

IBM PEM provides various versions of the predefined activities for the SFTP protocol. For more information about the different versions, see Versions of predefined activities in IBM PEM.

Note: If you are creating new activities by using the predefined activity for the SFTP protocol, it is recommended that you use the latest version of the predefined activity. However, existing activities that are created by using the earlier versions are supported.

In the PEM Partner Repository, a system is created for a partner when you run the predefined activity for SFTP. A partner can have multiple systems in the PEM Partner Repository.
