Password guidelines

IBM PEM enforces password strength rules to require users to have strong passwords.

Passwords must conform to the following guidelines:

  • A length of 15-50 characters
  • A combination of at least two-character types from the following options:
    • uppercase[A-Z], lowercase[a-z], number[0-9], and special characters. The valid non-alphabetic characters include the following characters hyphen (-), underscore (_), period (.), and special characters such as !@#$%&
  • Space characters are allowed, but not at the beginning and end of password

IBM PEM caches passwords. You cannot use a password that is cached or contains your user ID.

Note: In the Login screen, if you repeatedly enter an invalid password and exceed the maximum number of allowed valid attempts, your account is locked. To reset your password, click Forgot your password?.
