Test mode
Sponsor Administrators can run an activity in test mode to make sure that the activity is working as expected. APIs that are configured in IBM PEM can be called from test mode.
In test mode, you can see what the activity looks like from the sponsor point of view. For more information, see Testing an activity.
The process that the test mode uses is as follows:
- Load the test data for use in testing the activity.
- Create a test partner.
- Create a final activity.
- Roll out the activity to the test partner.
- Start the Test Execution page. The interface
has tabs for switching between the partner view and the sponsor view.
- The Partner View tab shows tasks to be run as a partner.
- The Sponsor View tab shows tasks to be run as a sponsor.
- Start the Test Execution page.
- When all the tasks are complete, the participant activity status changes to Completed.
- When activity testing is complete and the user leaves the Test Execution page, all the test data is cleared.
Important: Because all test data is cleared when you exit test mode, ensure
that you are finished testing before you exit test mode.
Due to the nature of test mode, historical data is not available, activity data cannot be monitored, and mail notifications are not sent.
A default partner TEST is used for running in test mode. For all the custom fields mapped in the activity, the value retrieved while running the activity in test mode is TEST.
Important: To test the predefined activities, you must create dummy partners and test
the predefined activities for the dummy partners. You must not use the Test mode to test predefined
activities.
